PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation detector for largely improving electron hole transport performance, while maintaining high electron transport performance. SOLUTION: The radiation detector is provided with electrodes on both sides of a photoconductive layer for recording, and detects electric charge generated within the photoconductive layer for recording as an electric signal by being irradiated with radiation while applying a predetermined bias voltage between the electrodes, and uses amorphous selenium having a coordination number of 1.95±0.02 for the photoconductive layer for recording.
