PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cable connector and a cable connecting method wherein connection of a conductive core wire of a cable with a contact is to be carried out surely and firmly by a comparatively simple work without using a soldering technique. SOLUTION: The contact 16 of the cable connector in which the conductive core wire 19 of the cable 14 is connected has a reference face part 27, a crossing part 28 extended in the direction crossing a reference face 26, and an inclined part 29 inclined and extended to the reference face 26 so that the inclined part continues to the crossing part and the crossing part or the inclined part continue to the reference face part. A mutually opposing bend part 31 to form a groove part 30 is installed at a part covering both the crossing part and the inclined part, and when the conductive core wire of the cable is inserted into the groove part, deformation is formed that the mutually opposing bend part is displaced in a direction of mutually approaching so as to have a caulking connection state against the conductive core wire at two places to form the crossing part and the inclined part respectively.
