PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder injection type spark ignition internal combustion engine capable of intensifying tumble flow by fuel injected from a fuel injection valve even if an operation state of an internal combustion engine changes. SOLUTION: This cylinder injection type spark ignition internal combustion engine intensifying tumble flow formed in a cylinder 4 by fuel injected from a fuel injection valve 21. A fuel injection direction FD of the fuel injection valve 21 is set in a direction same as the tumble flow, and an induction structure 27 inducing flow of fuel spray to a direction of the tumble flow is provided on a top surface 3TP of a piston 3 on which the fuel FE impinges. Since the induction structure 27 is provided, tumble flow can be intensified even if fuel injected from the fuel injection valve 21 impinges on the piston. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
