A cigarette manufacturing machine, comprising a web roll (8) delivering a we b (W) having bands pre-formed thereon and a suction brake (14) disposed betwee n the web roll (8) and the garniture tape (2) of a wrapping section (6), where in the suction brake (14) provides an extension to the web W by increasing the tension of the web W when the position of the band (B) on a cigarette (C) comes out of a proper area (CR) to return the position of the band (B) into the proper area.
