PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hologram recording/reproducing apparatus which is capable of improving the quality of a reproduction signal and recording a large number of holograms to enable the recording capacity thereof to be increased. SOLUTION: The hologram recording/reproducing apparatus includes: a laser beam source 1; a spatial light modulator 2 which spatially modulates light from the laser beam source 1; a Fourier transform lens 3 which concentrates light modulated by the spatial light modulator 2 upon a hologram disk 5; and a two-dimensional light-receiving element array 6 which receives light from the hologram disk 5. The spatial light modulator 2 is divided into a reference light area 21 and a signal light area 22, and the divergence angle of reference light emitted from the reference light area 21 is wider than the divergence angle of signal light emitted from the signal light area 22.
