PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve resolution by imaging of an internal defect by water immersion C scan ultrasonic flaw detection. SOLUTION: By transmitting an ultrasonic converging beam of which the depth position of a focus is set in the inside of an inspection object 1 regardless of the depth where an internal flaw is present to the inspection object from a point convergence type ultrasonic probe 10, a beam path distance of a defect echo is measured at each measuring point and recorded while receiving reflected waves (echo) from the internal defect of the inspection object including reflected waves from the internal defect located farther than the focus; a depth range in which defects may be present is obtained from the total recorded beam path distance; the depth range is divided into three-dimensional minute elements; a distance to the minute element is compared with the measured beam path distance for each of the all the measuring points; when they are coincident with each other in a predetermined range, it is added to a counter of three-dimensional arrangement formed corresponding to the position of the minute element; gradation or color is attached to the position of the minute element according to the value of the counter to display the internal defect of the inspection object.
