Provided is an on-vehicle display device which improves merchandise property by suppressing the restriction of the dimensions of a flat display. The on-vehicle display device includes the flat display (21b) capable of displaying various kinds of information, a transparent substrate (21a) provided on the front surface side of the flat display (21b), a compass needle (22) provided at the transparent substrate (21a), compass needle driving means (25 and 26) provided on the rear surface side of the flat display (21b) for rotating the compass needle (22), a moving mechanism (5) which moves the transparent substrate (21a) to the outside of a display range, a first magnet (22c) provided at the compass needle (22), and a second magnet (25a) so provided as to be opposed to the first magnet (22c) at the compass needle driving means (25 and 26). When the transparent substrate (21a) is positioned on the front surface side of the flat display (21b), attractions of the first and second magnets (22c, 25a) rotate the compass needle (22) in conjunction with the rotary driving of the compass needle driving means (25 and 26).
