PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a leakproof sewing method for preventing a leak or entry of fluid through a gap formed on a sewn portion on a cloth due to a tensile force acting on the cloth. SOLUTION: In mating sewing of turning up ends of adjacent cloths 1 and sewing the ends to stitch together the adjacent cloths 1, flexible nonpermeable sheets 4 are interposed in the turned up portions of the cloths 1, and are stitched together with the cloths 1. A part of the nonpermeable sheet 4 that is closer to the body cloth 3 of the cloth 1 than a main suture 6 is made into a free end that does not follow the stretch of the cloth 1. When a tensile force acts on the cloth 1 to create a gap near the suture 6, the nonpermeable sheet 4 not following the stretch of the cloth 1 fills the gap to prevent a leak or entry of fluid.
