PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption of a liquid crystal display panel part of an electric cooker such as an electric rice cooker. SOLUTION: This electric cooker includes a liquid crystal display panel displaying a cooking menu and the other cooking information, wherein while information required for cooking is displayed on the liquid crystal display panel, desired electric cooking is performed. The liquid crystal panel has a memory function, the display content is changed only when voltage is applied, and the display content when the voltage is applied is maintained in the voltage-free state. As a result, voltage is not always applied to the liquid crystal, and it will be sufficient to apply voltage only when the display content is updated. Thus, the power consumption during the clock indication, rice cooking residual time indication, warming elapsed time indication and the other various cooking information indication operation can be largely saved.
