PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce thermal loads and pressurization loads for the initial temperature increase - pressure increase of an atmosphere inside a vessel and to increase a waste treatment amount without enlarging a reaction vessel. SOLUTION: The waste treatment apparatus (1) includes: a first vessel (10) for agitating and hydrolyzing organic waste (W1) in a high temperature - high pressure intra-vessel area (18); a second vessel (20) for heating and drying the hydrolyzed waste (W2) in a high temperature - low pressure intra-vessel area (28); a waste supplier (30) for introducing the waste (W0) to the intra-vessel area of the first vessel without releasing the atmosphere inside the first vessel; and a waste moving apparatus for moving the waste (W1') inside the first vessel into the second vessel without releasing the atmosphere inside the first vessel.
