<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adapter for a memory card capable of short-circuiting contact parts for a socket without increasing the number of components, and of surely connecting the contact parts for a socket to terminals of the socket in a specified order. <P>SOLUTION: This adapter 1 for a memory card is provided with a contact block 3 electrically connecting the memory card to the socket. The contact block 3 is provided with: the contact parts 4 for the socket connected to the terminals of the socket by contact surfaces 41 formed on the front side; a short-circuiting part 7 short-circuiting the contact parts 4 for a socket to one another; and a holding part 9 formed by insert molding, exposing the contact surfaces 41 of the contact parts 4 for a socket, and holding them in a form embedding the short-circuiting part 7.
