PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fine ferrite powder while retaining magnetic characteristics. SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a ferrite powder is provided including a step (A) of preparing a ferrite raw material by mixing two or more compounds including an iron compound, and a step (B) of synthesizing a ferrite by heat-treating a ferrite raw material obtained in the step (A) at a temperature at which the ferrite raw material is ferritized, wherein, in the step (B), the pressure of an atmosphere in which the ferrite raw material is heated to the ferritization temperature is set to≤10<SP>3</SP>Pa in a first temperature range from the beginning of the heating to a maximum temperature of 400-600°C and to≥10<SP>-7</SP>Pa in a second temperature range higher than the first temperature range.
