<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pigment dispersion giving a colored resist excellent in contrast and coating stability and having excellent dispersion properties and viscosity stability, and provide the colored resist. <P>SOLUTION: The pigment dispersion contains at least a pigment, a binder, a dispersant and a dispersant aid in a dispersion solvent, wherein the dispersant aid is a 1-5C aliphatic saturated alcohol (a1) and/or a compound (a2) represented by the following general formula (1) and is contained in an amount accounting for 1% by mass to 10% by mass in the whole pigment dispersion.
