The invention relates to a converter for converting magnetic energy to kinetic energy and/or electric energy. Said converter consists of at least two components, one component being stationary relative to the surroundings and the other component being movably mounted relative to the stationary component. One component comprises at least one magnetic coil connected to an electric power source via a magnetic coil control and the other component comprises at least one permanent magnet that interacts at least temporarily with the magnetic coil. The converter also comprises at least one electronic detection device and at least one pulse control. At least one pulse control controls the work pulses and/or coil core regenerating pulses to be fed to every magnetic coil, while taking into consideration the relative position and the relative speed of the magnetic coil and the permanent magnet detected by the electronic detection device.
