THE NEW PARAMETER FOR X- AND Y-CHROMOSOME BEARING SPERM SORTING WITH HIGH DEGREE OF PURITY

A method for sorting X- and Y-chromosome bearing sperms is provided to increase sorting purity of degree by using a new sorting parameter, and maintain survival of sperms and selectively inhibit mobility of sperms by maintaining pH constantly during sorting process, so that the sorting efficiency of sperms is enhanced. A method for sorting X- and Y-chromosome bearing sperms comprises the steps of: (a) collecting sperm cells from male of animals; (b) diluting the collected sperm cells with dilution solution to prepare a sperm sample; (c) evaluating the sperm cells based on their physiological properties by using differences of nucleus width obtained by measuring time intervals from a starting point and an end point of passing the nucleus in the sperm head through laser in a flow cytometry as a sorting parameter; (d) dividing the evaluated sperm cells into several groups; and (e) sorting the divided sperm cell groups into a group having X-chromosome and a group having Y-chromosome.
