PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerating cycle apparatus, restraining a sudden pressure fluctuation in a refrigerating circuit when starting a compressor to protect a device, and achieving high-accuracy temperature control. SOLUTION: This refrigerating cycle apparatus R includes a refrigerating circuit 40 including a compressor 26, a condenser 27, an expansion valve 44 and an evaporator 15. The apparatus includes a control device C for controlling the compressor 26 and the expansion valve 44, wherein the control device C controls the operating frequency of a compressor motor 26M for driving the compressor 26 based on a temperature in a display chamber 11 cooled by the evaporator 15, controls the opening of the expansion valve 44 to reach a target degree of superheat based on the degree of superheat of a refrigerant in the evaporator 15, and puts the expansion valve 44 in the state of being opened at a predetermined valve opening when starting the compressor 26.
