An optical film, a method for preparing the optical film, a polarizer using the film, and an LCD device containing the polarizer are provided to improve transparency, heat resistance and mechanical strength. An optical film comprises a block copolymer which comprises a vinyl polymer block comprising styrene or its derivative, and a polydimethylsiloxane polymer block. Preferably the vinyl polymer block comprises a styrene-based monomer represented by the formula 1, wherein R is independently H, a C1-C20 alkyl group, an aryl group, an alkylaryl group, an arylalkyl group, a halogen atom, a nitro group or an alkoxy group and can form a fused ring with the adjacent group; and n is an integer of 0-5. |
