摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such a drying method, in an intermediate drying process at a filling cycle of an active material, that a drying state of a porous sintered substrate is appropriate at finish of the intermediate drying process even if humidity and temperature are fluctuated with time. <P>SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the alkaline storage battery provided with a filling cycle consisting of an impregnating process of immersing the porous sintered substrate in aqueous solution (impregnation liquid) mainly composed of nitrate consisting of nickel nitrate and cobalt nitrate and impregnating the nitrate in the porous sintered substrate, an intermediate drying process of heating and drying the porous sintered substrate impregnated in the above solution, and an alkaline immersion process of immersing the intermediately dried porous sintered substrate in the alkaline solution, a final drying process is carried out until a mass of the nitrate retained in the porous sintered substrate after the intermediate drying process is to be 1.0 to 1.3 times that equivalent to nitrate hexahydrate contained in the impregnation liquid held in the porous sintered substrate in the impregnating process. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
