PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: a blade member made of metal has a smaller contact area between the blade member and a developer carrier than conventional developer quantity regulating blades formed from a rubber plate, a resin plate, or the laminate thereof, with the result that partial contact pressure tends to increase even with the same pressing force and streaks occurs on an image. SOLUTION: The developing blade uses a blade member made of metal, which has a plate thickness of≥0.06 mm to≤0.20 mm and a Vickers hardness of≥170 to <370.
