PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein, when sludge or slime is piled on a bellofram surface of a throw-in type water gage, level measurement by the water gage is difficult. SOLUTION: This throw-in type water gage 1 equipped with a pressure detection sensor for detecting a water level has a constitution equipped with a light emitting body 3 and an optical sensor 5 provided separately from the light emitting body and receiving light emitted from the light emitting body, which are provided on the pressure detection sensor; and a fouling detection device 8 for detecting fouling of the pressure detection sensor from a light receiving level of the optical sensor 5.
