PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for replacing the top-lip metal of a converter, for safely replacing the metal in a short period. SOLUTION: The top-lip metal of the converter, is replaced in the following processes, that is; (1) a process for taking out the top-lip metal by tilting the converter; (2) a process for placing a new furnace top-lip metal so that it can be fit to the converter which is made upside down, on a furnace top-hole metal replacing device in off-line; (3) a process for placing the above furnace top-lip metal replacing device on a steel receiving truck; (4) a process for placing the furnace on the above furnace top-lip metal replacing device on the steel receiving truck in a state that the converter is made upside down; and (5) a process for fastening the above new furnace top-hole metal and the converter body with bolts.
