PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the digitalization of the appearance of metallic coating, particularly brightness feeling or particle feeling. SOLUTION: The metallic coating digitalization device is provided with: a microscope for magnifying a metallic coating surface of a standard sample or evaluating sample; a microscopic digital camera to pickup a magnified micro-image; a micro-image analyzing means 41 for extracting a first feature amount from the micro-image; database (storing means 40) for storing the first feature amount of a standard sample; and a determination means 43 for determining a sample to be evaluated by comparing the first feature amount stored in the database to the first feature amount extracted from the evaluating sample. As the first feature amount, at least one of the size of flake which is fine small piece exhibiting metallic brightness, the density of the flake, an evaluation of the degree of the ups and downs of the flake and the evaluation exhibiting the surface state of the flake in the metallic coating is adopted.
