摘要 |
The invention relates to a mass spectrometer with an electrostatic ion trap 1 comprising an outer electrode 10 with an ion-repelling electric potential and at least two inner electrodes 21, 22 with ion-attracting potentials, wherein the outer electrode and the inner electrodes are shaped and arranged in such a way that a harmonic electric potential is formed in one spatial direction and, perpendicular to this spatial direction, an electric potential is formed in which ions move on stable, radial trajectories. The inner surface of the outer electrode and the outer surface of the inner electrodes may be shaped to correspond to equipotential surfaces of the trapping potential. The outer and inner electrodes may also be segmented and supplied with voltages such that the appropriate electric potential is generated. |
