<p>Glazing for security windows is lined on the internal face with metallised plastic sheet or film which (a) can reflect light towards the brighter side of the glazing, and (b) inhibit disruption of the surface of the inner face of the glazing. For security windows for cashiers etc. to suppress fragmentation by external shots and to allow the area behind the window to be made dark without admitting significant levels of illumination from outside the glazing. Contrast or vibration sensors may be associated with the window to automatically release steel shutters if the glazing is stuck or if the illumination differential across the window is altered. Claims windows of glass laminated with metallised polyester or polycarbonate film.</p> |
