The sealing system comprises a sealing tape (31) for sealing the passage of a pipe in a wall and at least two holders (4) each with a fixing section (41) and each with at least two sleeve segments (42, 43.1) whereby one sleeve segment has means for engaging in the sealing tape. The sealing tape can be cut to length and wrapped round the pipeline (2). The tape has an inlay of material which swells on contact with water.
