PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a watering system which ensures a uniform pondage in each water storage box embedded in the ground, to thereby enhance the cooling efficiency thereof at the time of a high temperature, and to provide a water storage unit for use in the watering system. SOLUTION: The water storage unit 5 for use in the watering system is formed of a water storage box 6 having an upper opening section and a top board 7 covering the opening section of the water storage box 6 and having a water flowing hole 12 communicating with the water storage box 6. The watering system has the water storage units 5 flatly bedded in the ground, a water permeable sand prevention member 8 bedded on the water storage units 5, and water retaining blocks 10 bedded above the water permeable sand prevention member 8. The water storage unit 5 for use in the watering system, is characterized in that the top board 7 has the water flowing hole 12 penetrating therethrough, for leading collected water content to the water storage box 6.
