<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily correct a sign reflected in an image so that it becomes inconspicuous. <P>SOLUTION: A region which is a predetermined value larger in brightness or saturation than a circumferential area in the image is extracted as a sign region. Image data are so corrected that the brightness of the extracted sign region approximates the brightness of the circumferential region. Alternatively, the image data are so corrected that the saturation of the sign region approximates the saturation of the circumferential region. Consequently, the region wherein the sign etc., is reflected in the image can easily be extracted and the sign etc., can easily be corrected to be inconspicuous. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
