STEVIOL SYNTHETIC ENZYME GENE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING STEVIOL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steviol synthetic enzyme gene desired for the study and development of metabolic engineering for increasing productivity of stevioside.

SOLUTION: The system of biosynthesizing the steviol in mass by excessively expressing the steviol synthetic enzyme gene of a steviol synthetic enzyme of CYP714A2 originated from Arabidopsis thaliana is provided. The steviol synthetic enzyme gene having a specific polynucleotide sequence encoding a steviol synthetic enzyme protein is also provided.
