PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discriminate appropriately whether an optical disk is BD or not. SOLUTION: A DSP 32 of a disk player 100 is provided with a recording signal obtaining part 321 obtaining a fully-added signal AS1 obtained by totaling electric signals corresponding to all reflected light obtained by an optical pickup 1 by irradiating a reproduced information region DA storing information to be reproduced of an optical disk with a laser beam from LD for BD, an inspection signal obtaining part 322 obtaining a fully-added signal AS2 by irradiating an inspection region CA in a range of 21.3 mm to 22.0 mm from the center position of the optical disk with the laser beam from the LD for BD, and a discriminating part 323 discriminating whether the optical disk is BD or not based on the fully-added signal AS1 obtained by the recording signal obtaining part 321 and the fully-added signal AS2 obtained by the inspection signal obtaining part 322.
