PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter device for an air conditioner extremely easy in maintenance of an air filter and disposal of collected dust-dirt. SOLUTION: This filer device for the air conditioner is provided with the air filter 2 collecting the dust-dirt included in air passing through a heat exchanger built in the air conditioner, a suction nozzle 3 sucking the dust-dirt sticking to the air filter 2, a suction device 6 communicating with the suction nozzle 3, a dust collector 13 having a dust collecting part 39 collecting the dust-dirt, and opening-closing covers 22a and 22b switching a flow passage so that the dust collector 13 is positioned on the upstream side of the suction device 6 when collecting the dust-dirt and the dust collecting part is positioned on the downstream side of the suction device 6 when exhausting the dust-dirt collected to the dust collecting part 13 to the outside of a room, and is extremely easy in the maintenance of the air filter 2 and the disposal of the collected dust-dirt.
