PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a lookup table with good reproducibility of achromatic colors. SOLUTION: As regards to representative input points P1, P2, and P4 belonging to a group A and representative input points P3, P5, and P6 belonging to a group B, average values (a) and (b) are calculated for the total of respective RGB channels in an eRGB color space of representative output points p1 to p6 made to correspond to input points by a composite LUT. Then RGB values in the eRGB color space constituting the representative output points p1 to p6 are adjusted so that the average values (a) and (b) are equal to total values of respective RGB channels of the representative output points p1 to p6 after adjustment.
