PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems that destruction and distortion of characters are generated in an input image when an appropriate input resolution is not set when inputting an image and a correct character is not extracted even when digital data are generated from the input image thereafter and OCR processing is performed in an image processor. SOLUTION: An appropriate resolution judgement part 1040 is provided and whether or not the image is inputted by the appropriate input resolution is judged from a character code after the OCR processing. Also, by providing an appropriate resolution determination part 1060 for determining the appropriate input resolution for the input image, the appropriate input resolution is acquired. When it is considered that there is the problem in the setting of the input resolution by the appropriate resolution judgement part 1040, by issuing an alarm, urging image input again by the appropriate input resolution or converting the resolution of the input image to the appropriate input resolution in an image processing part 1070, the image processor capable of efficiently obtaining the image of the appropriate resolution is provided.
