PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily position a male screw member and attach/detach the male screw member. SOLUTION: This male screw member holding device is furnished with; a holding jig 9 divided into first and second jigs 9a, 9b and to hold a male screw part 4 with female screw parts 13 formed on their respective inner peripheral surfaces; pressurizing members 22a, 22b to pressurize the first and second jigs 9a, 9b in a direction to catch the male screw part 4 and; an energizing member 24 to energize the first and second jigs 9a, 9b in a direction to release catching of the male screw part 4. The first jig 9a is furnished with a positioning part 14b to position the male screw member 3 on the holding jig 9 as a head end surface of the male screw member 3 makes contact when the male screw member 3 is inserted into a female screw hole of the holding jig 9 in a state that the first and second jigs 9a, 9b are released, and the head end surface of the male screw member 3 comes to be in a non-constrained state in a state that the first and second jigs 9a, 9b catch and hold the male screw part 4.
