PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pump unit in which pump speed can be varied, while avoiding footprint increase and cost increase, and making it hard for the vibration of the motor and transmission device to be transmitted to the pump. SOLUTION: In a pump unit A used in a drain pump facility or the like, a pump unit is adopted, in which an output shaft 3 of a horizontal electric motor M and a main shaft 1 of horizontal pump P are interlockingly connected via a belt-type continuous variable speed transmission T using a belt 9 made of an elastic material.
