PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase rigidity by eliminating a huge portion of a cover body on the upside of a side cover, and to facilitate an opening/closing operation. SOLUTION: This cover device comprises the side cover 16 which is attached to a side portion of a base 15 on the front side of one side portion of a counterweight 14 of a swivel base 2, and the cover body 4 which is arranged on the front side of one side portion of a hood 17 and on the upside of the side cover 16. An upper edge 16a of the side cover 16 and a lower edge 4a of the cover body 4 are formed in such a shape as to be inclined upward to the rear from the front, and brought closer to an upper edge 14a of a front side portion of the counterweight 14.
