The ultrasonic sensor (1) has an emitter (4) issuing ultrasonic waves (3) and an acceptor (5) receiving ultrasonic waves. The emitter and acceptor has an ultrasonic transducer, which has ferroelectric foils (12a,12b) with assigned electrodes (13a,13b). The frequency of the ultrasonic waves is adjustable. The electrodes of the ultrasonic transducers of the emitter and acceptor are attached to an evaluation unit (6).
