An air conditioner capable of detecting failures in connection. A bathroom air conditioner (1B) includes an air conditioner body (2B) equipped with a fan and a heater and having power supplied to be driven, a relay (3B) having a power source line (41A) connected from the air conditioner body (2B) and a power source line (41B) connected from a distribution board, and a temperature sensor (32a) for detecting a change in conditions due to a current flowing in the power source line (41A) and the power source line (41B) connected via the relay (3B). The bathroom air conditioner (1B) detects an output from the temperature sensor (32a) of the relay (3B), monitors the temperature in the relay (3B) from the output of the temperature sensor (32a), mainly whether the temperature rises at a connection between the power source lines (41A,41B), and stops operation when the detected temperature by the temperature sensor (32a) exceeds a predetermined upper limit temperature.
