PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing line suitably visible in the dark without causing trouble such that a fishing ground is unnecessarily lit by light emission of an illuminator and to provide the illuminator corresponding thereto. SOLUTION: The fishing line is composed so that the surface part is coated with an ultraviolet fluorescent substance producing the fluorescence by ultraviolet excitation or the ultraviolet fluorescent substance is contained in the interior thereof. The illuminator is equipped with a visible light-emitting means for emitting visible light and an ultraviolet light-emitting means for emitting ultraviolet light and the light emission and driving of the visible light-emitting means and the ultraviolet light-emitting means can be changed over.
