The invention relates to a method for machining a toothing (7) on an oute r circumference (6) or an inner circumference of a work piece (2) made of pr essed and sintered powder metal, by means of a rolling process on the toothi ng (7) using two rotatable section rolling wheels (8), which comprise a form ed toothing (13) engaging in the toothing (7) of the work piece (2). Two sec tion rolling wheels (8) are rotatably arranged with at least approximately c onstant center distances (16) from each other between the section rolling wh eels axles (9) in a common supporting frame (10). The invention further rela tes to a device for a rolling treatment of a toothing.
