PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device with higher reliability in which a control program, an error discrimination code and a parameter are divided/stored in a plurality of cells in every control system, ROM diagnosis program is executed in every cell, when an error is detected, it is switched to simple processing data previously stored in the cell to continue assist, and error-detection is also performed regarding the simple processing data. SOLUTION: A memory means diagnosis program is built-in in a memory means, and a first error discrimination code is stored in every cell of a predetermined bit number. Abnormality detection function in which the memory means diagnosis program performs error-detection in every cell based on the first error discrimination code is provided.
