<p>PURPOSE:To facilitate resumption of the operation of a magnetic tape unit by temporarily pausing upon detection of a reject block deviating from a predetermined position. CONSTITUTION:A cartridge fixing means 3 fixes a cartridge 1 at a magnetic rejectable position before information is recorded or reproduced. A reject block detecting means 5 then detects the state of a block 2 which is rejected from the cartridge 1 and a magnetic tape is wound. Upon detection that the block 2 is removed and the cartridge 1 is not mounted correctly at a predetermined position, a reject interrupting means 6 causes a means 4 to temporarily stop rejection of the block 2. Subsequently, the block 2 is mounted again automatically or manually at the predetermined position of the cartridge 1 thus resuming reject process.</p> |
