An image data storing apparatus for a vehicle is provided to acquire image information in the front and rear of the vehicle before or after an accident and store only information with a high degree of importance on a volatile memory, thereby preventing important information from being deleted by an unimportant event. An image data storing apparatus for a vehicle includes a housing(100), a camera, a sensor unit(130), a storage unit(120), and a control unit(150). The camera is positioned in the housing and acquires an image signal. The sensor unit is positioned in the housing and detects a driving state of the vehicle. The storage unit is positioned in the housing and includes a volatile memory. The control unit receives a signal from the sensor unit to determine whether an event occurs and receives an image signal from the camera by wire/wireless to store the received image signal in the storage unit when the event occurs.
