<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply a sufficient driving force to an air shut-off valve while suppressing efficiency deterioration in a fuel cell system. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell system is provided with a buffer tank 44 for conducting pressure accumulation of air compressed by an air compressor 17 at a pressure higher than a supply pressure to the fuel cell 13, atmospheric pressure chambers 51, 61 communicated with atmosphere, pressurized rooms 52, 62 pressurized by compressed air supplied from the buffer tank 44, springs 53, 63 for valve closure for energizing a valve element with a force in a valve-closing direction. When the fuel cell 13 is in operation, the respective air shut-off valves 50, 60 are kept in a valve-opened state by the compressed air supplied from the buffer tank 44 and when the fuel cell 13 is out of operation, the respective air shut-off valves 50, 60 are kept in a valve-closed state by the springs 53, 63 for valve closure. If pressure in the buffer tank 44 falls lower than a pressure hold pressure, the pressure is raised to the holding pressure by opening a buffer tank inlet opening/closing valve 41 after raising the pressure of a compressed air supply pipe 27. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
