PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for side wall-reinforcing layers which has increased stiffness, improved run flat runnability and highly reduced changes of physical properties after thermally aged, without changing the kinds and amounts of reinforcing fillers, and to provide a run flat tire having a side wall-reinforcing layer using the same. SOLUTION: This rubber composition for side wall-reinforcing layers contains N-(1,3-dimethylbutyl)-N'-phenylquinonediimine. The run flat tire has a side wall-reinforcing layer using the same.
