<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rainfall measurement device in which the service life of a battery is extended by reducing the electric power consumption without remarkably degrading the measurement accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: The output from a rain gauge 1 is temporarily stored in a data temporary storage means 21. The sampling frequency at which a data calculation means 22 takes out the output data of the rain gauge stored in the data temporary storage means 21 is changed by a sampling frequency change means 26. The sampling period is extended in the period in which the quantity of the water in a water storage tank for measurement still does not near the full capacity and the measurement accuracy does not need to be enhanced or in the period in which, since the quantity of water is not almost increased though it nears the full capacity, the high measurement accuracy does not need to be maintained. When the quantity of water nears the full capacity and the measurement accuracy must be enhanced, the sampling period is reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
