The invention provides compositions and methods for the treatment of HIV infection, inhibition against drug-resistant strains of HIV-1 and methods of enhancing the anti-HIV potency of peptide inhibitors against drug-resistant strains of HIV-1. In particular, oligomeric C-peptide inhibitors for inhibi ting HIV entry into host cells are disclosed.
