A station arrival of transportation means notification system using mobile phones and a control method thereof are provided to prevent the user of a mobile phone from missing his destination station or previously getting off in a hurry by transmitting an alarm signal to the mobile phone when the user approaches the destination station in case he makes a phone call to a unique number granted to a transportation he gets on. A station arrival notification system comprises a mobile phone, an MSC(Mobile Switching Center)(110), a transportation(300), an information DB(220), and an arrival notification server(210). The mobile phone executes radio communication through a mobile communication network. The transportation has an allocated unique number to which the user of the mobile phone can make a phone call. The information DB stores a destination requested from the user of the mobile phone. If the present location of the transportation is inputted, the arrival notification server confirms whether the inputted location is matched with the requested destination. If matched, the arrival notification server transmits an arrival notification alarm signal to the mobile phone. |
