<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for producing a photosensitive laminate which can guarantee the quality of the produced photosensitive laminate by measuring the position of a photosensitive material layer stuck on a substrate efficiently and accurately. <P>SOLUTION: A lengthy photosensitive web 22 is stuck on a glass substrate 24 in a sticking mechanism 46, and the photosensitive laminate 24a separated by a cutter mechanism 48, after a protective film is peeled off, is carried to a detection part 104. In the detection part 104, an image is taken by CD cameras 108a and 108b when the front end part of the glass substrate 24 or a photosensitive resin layer is detected by a photo sensor 106. On the basis of the taken image, the sticking position of the front end part of the photosensitive resin layer 28 in relation to the glass substrate 24 is calculated.
