PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constantly enable resume reproduction regardless of circumstances such as a case of reproducing only by DAP and a case of reproducing by connecting with external equipment. SOLUTION: A reproducing system connects resume reproducing devices 1 and 2 each other to reproduce content data stored in one reproducing device by the other reproducing device. The other reproducing device indicates whether a reproduction position for resume reproduction is shared or not with the former reproducing device based on an operation at an operating section 40. The other reproducing device transmits shared information for resume and resume reproduction information relating to sharing of the resume reproduction to the one reproducing device when the resume reproduction is shared based on the indication. The one reproducing device carries out resume reproduction based on the transmitted resume reproduction information when sharing based on the shared information for resume.
