PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an output image with a satisfactory image quality irrespective of the dosage of radiation incident on a detector. SOLUTION: The radiation imaging apparatus includes: a flat detector 110 for detecting as an image signal an X-ray 201 irradiated from an X-ray generation apparatus 200 and penetrating through an object 300; read out means 120 for amplifying and reading out the image signal detected by the flat detector 110; and a control means 140 for controlling at least one of the X-ray generation apparatus 200, the flat detector 110 and the read out means 120 such that the obtained SN ratio of the image signal according to the dosage of the X-rays incident on the flat detector 110 can be obtained by the SN ratio required for the image signal.
